This is a must have for all Frank Marino collectors. This recording is nearly 3 hours long and represents what was actually a 5 hour long in studio jam session. We get to hear Frank and company throw down some great variations on some of his early tracks and some awesome Jimi Hendrix covers. Some jams push into the 20 minute mark as the band really enjoys themselves. The recording does show some age but is still an enjoyable listen.

This is a rather large file set so I have divided the files to make shorter download times.

Manowar was formed by Joey DeMaio and Ross the Boss in 1980. The bands muscle man image set them apart from most of your Metal bands of the time. The band represented themselves as the One True Metal Band and demanded death to all False Metal bands. On their first full length Manowar pulled of the ultimate guest appearance when Orson Welles agreed to narrate the track "Dark Avenger". This recording comes from the tour to promote Hail To England, the bands 3rd full length release. The album was dedicated to Manowar's British fans who were denied the chance to see the band on their ill fated 1983 tour. The band has gone through some line up changes but are still going strong with Joey DeMaio and Eric Adams still in the fold. Guitarist Ross the Boss left in 1988 to be replaced by David Shankle who left in 1994 to be replaced by current shredder Karl Logan.

Recorded on the date, I was there to see the Talking Heads. Transferred to Flac on June 19 2014 ripped from my original master tape, recorded at the soundboard, ripped on my Nakamichi this is the complete show, not just the circulating FM tracks.

Draftervoi's notes:
Hans transferred this to flac as a single unchaptered flac.  In AUDACTIY, I chaptered the tracks,
normalized the channels, removed a few audio glitches, merged the audio at the tape flip,
removed sector boundary errors, exported to FLAC, and compressed with WINRAR.

This is a very clean sounding recording that has to be heard to be appreciated!

A really good sounding recording from the band that gave the genre it's name. In the lyric "I like smoke and lighting, heavy metal thunder, racin' in the wind, and the feeling that I'm under" heavy metal thunder referred to the roar of a motorcycle on the highway not the style of music. The name however stuck to the genre since critics need some type of descriptive title to give all music. Never the less, the Hard/Acid Rock of Steppenwolf was influential to young Metal Heads around the globe.

Anthrax started out in the New York City Heavy Metal Underground in 1981. After the usual line up changes that happen in the formative years of bands, Anthrax released their first single "Soldiers of Metal". This independent single got the attention of Johnny Zazula of Megaforce Records. After signing to Megaforce Anthrax released their debut LP Fistful Of Metal. During these formative years the band played host to Metallica who were in New York City to record their debut Kill'em All. Metallica and Anthrax toured together in 1987, this was the ill fated tour that saw the loss of Cliff Burton. Anthrax also toured with Black Sabbath on the Seventh Star Tour which was put on hold when Glenn Hughs was fired for not cutting it live. Anthrax's first European tour was cancelled due to the Chernobyl disaster. The band is now considered one of the Big Four of Thrash Metal along with Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer. The line up has shifted a few times but now classic vocalist Joey Belladonna is back in the fold and new music is in the works.
