In my haste to make my last post I didn't do a very good search and posted a show from Miles Davis that had been released on the Bootleg Series #3 Miles At The Fillmore. So I had to delete that post. So then I had to come up with a show from the same line-up and same quality. This recording is just that. Containing both the early and late shows from the Sextet's March 6, 1970 appearance at The Fillmore East. The March 7, 1970 show was released as It's About Time in 2001 but this show remains unreleased. Many consider this show to be superior to the official March 7 release. This two night stand was the last shows that Wayne Shorter would play with Miles Davis.

Christmas Shows And More Reposts

It's that time of year. All of our Christmas shows have working links. This year's new Christmas Music posts start with another great recording from Wynton Marsalis & Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. More Christmas Music to come in the near future. As for re-posts all Whitesnake, Chicago, Joe Jackson, Miles Davis, and SF Jazz Collective shows are working as well.

I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to even out some volume issues, remove 2 seconds of noise at the beginning of track 01, and re-edit some track markers. No EQ or noise reduction was used. The waves were encoded to MP3 320kbps because the DVD had lossy audio.

Nice sounding recording from Rosebud's Chicago collection. This one see's the band playing some classics, some tracks from Chicago 16, a song each from Bill Champlin and Peter Cetera's solo LPs, and a track from the at the time unreleased Chicago 17 "Stay The Night". Also covers of The Spencer Davis Group's "I'm A Man" and "Gimme Some Lovin'" as well as The Beatles' "Got To Get You Into My Life"

Mel Galley had broken his arm so John Sykes was the lone guitar player for the end of Whitesnake's American Tour. John Lord left to return to Deep Purple so Richard Bailey was brought in to play keyboards, although he was set up off stage. The line-up of Whitesnake would forever be in a state of constant change after this tour.
