- Small bad vinyl spot at beginning of "Fascination" could not be smoothed out.

Editing Notes:
- LPs cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning System.
- A Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used prior to LP playback
- The Vocopro CDR-1000PRO records at 24bit/44,1khz.
- CD-rs ripped at 16bit/44,1khz.
- CD-rs did not want to take more than 1 LP side without failing.
- EAC Log given for each CD-r ripped.
- Raw transfer: EQ off, treble and bass levels set at zero for most accurate sound of LP.
- No noise reduction used.
- Manually de-clicked in Goldwave.

Other Notes:
Host Phil Hendrie got his start in radio at WBJW Florida in 1973. As all DJs do he moved from station to station as his career grew. He soon developed a cast of characters that he voiced. Phil Hendrie became one of the many hosts that Westwood One would use over the years. He also is a voice over actor in commercials, animated shorts and features. His credits include Futurama and King Of The Hill. He now has a podcast called Truth Is Our Bitch.

The Greg Kihn Band were on tour promoting their Kihnspiracy LP. Kihnspiracy gave The band their 1st Top 10 Hit "Jeapardy" topping the sales of their previous Hit "The Break Up Song" which hit the Top 20.

Here is something that's actually a little rare and I didn't even know it! Our good friend Draftervoi informed me that the "Pop Concerts" from Westwood One are rare. He also told me that although this concert was used in other broadcasts, this is the longest version of this Greg Kihn Band show. It's cool having friends that know stuff LOL!!! He also helped out with pictures and a couple news paper ads for the show. The Chicago 1983 Pre-FM I recently posted from my collection is also from the Westwood One Pop Concert series. I also have one from Crosby, Stills & Nash from the Pop Concert Series I will encode when I find the vinyl in all the boxes. Since the move every thing from the music room is still in boxes. It's going to take a while to get it situated...

My friend has been collecting FM recordings on Reel to Reel for years. Recently he came by with his tape deck so I could digitize his collection for him. So I retained copies of the ones I wanted as my fee for the work. He said I could share them as long as I give him credit for the tapes. For these distributions he has chosen the name Danibus. His tapes are always a little low on bass so I used a ten band EQ on them. Nothing else was done to alter them.

Known Faults:
- One small section during "Talking To Myself" that has a pop in the same section for one quarter of the song. This was dealt with in editing.

Recording Notes:
- There is a locked groove test tone at the beginning of Side A for radio stations to set balance and output levels before broadcast. It was not encoded.
- There are two locked groove show promos at the end of Side A. They have been encoded and moved to the end of the recording.

Editing Notes:
- Records hand cleaned with Record Research Lab Super Record Wash before playback.
- LP cleaned with the HumminGuru Ultrasonic Vinyl Record Cleaning System prior to playback.
- A Zerostat Positive Ion gun was used on LP prior to playback.
- Raw transfer: EQ off, treble and bass levels set at +/- zero for most accurate sound of LP.
- Turntable balanced: Needle Tracking, Azimuth, Pressure & Antiskid Dialed In: Soundcard stereo field maximized: Goldwave always set to record while filtering any offset.
- Recording and all editing done in 24bit/96khz.
- Preservation being key the show is encoded complete with commercials and voiceovers.
- Declicked manually and some noise reduction used depending on what best served situation.
- As with all King Biscuit shows I've edited so far, the commercials had a maked difference in volume to the music. Volume was adjusted to match the body of the show.

Other Notes:
- I don't know how many Greg Kihn Band shows I have edited but with each one I have become more of a fan.
- This show to me just seems that much better than the others. Maybe the band is just having a great show. You can tell the band is really having a good time at this show.
- I noticed in particular bass player Steve Wright's noodling over the riff is a little more inspired than before. For a great example just listen to the beginning of "Valerie" where the bass player and guitar player are interacting with each other playing around with the riff.
- Trivia note: The beginning drum beat to Little Richard's "Keep A-Knockin'" is what John Bonham was trying to play when he came up with the intro-beat to Led Zeppelin's "Rock N' Roll".

Tracks from the Greg Kihn Band's 1981 Country Club show were broadcast at least twice by Westwood One. Westwood One In Concert 81-10 with the Greg Kihn Band is sourced from the same concert at Wolf and Rissmiller's Country Club. Five songs are duplicated on both shows, but 81-10 has seven unique songs, and 82-12 has four unique songs.

justdave notes: I bought this 2 record pre-fm vinyl set at the same time I bought the 1983 Chicago set I posted earlier, the DJ cue sheet was missing for this set as well. Each disc was treated with Pfan-Stat No. SA-14, and the Discwasher Zerostat Positive Ion Gun prior to play. They where played on a Sony PS-LX300H turntable to a Sony RCD-W500C CD Recorder using the Super Bit Mapping function. The resulting CD-R was ripped with Exact Audio Copy. The waves were imported to Goldwave V.5.04 for pop/click fix, track seperaton, and fade in out as needed.I only use  1 passive run of Goldwaves pop/click fix, since agressive noise reduction can impare sound quality.  The waves were then converted to flac level 8 with Traders Little Helper aligning all sector boundaries.

I removed all the commercials, so there are fades between tracks 4 & 5, 7 & 8 and 10 & 11. Track 15 is a pre show promo. I also included a scan of record one side one. The band line up is a best guess for this time period, after checking on-line sources.
