Nice Pre-FM recording of an in studio appearance by The Charlie Daniels Band promoting their "Saddle Tramp" release. Around this time in their career The CDB were considered too Rock & Roll for traditional Country Music Radio stations. In the Detroit area The CDB were championed by WRIF Rock Radio placing them in the same category as Southern Rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Marshall Tucker Band. These Southern Rock bands wrote some of the best Country Rock tunes ever. These bands would fit in fine with Country Music Radio the way it is now. Since musicians like Garth Brooks and others brought influences such as Little Feat and Grahamn Parsons to county music.
