After this gig Queensrÿche fired lead vocalist Geoff Tate and replaced him with a sound a like singer named Todd La Torre. The band citing creative differences, and violence as the causes of the split. Geoff filed a lawsuit for control of the name Queensrÿche. The band had issued a statement saying that they had formed a new band with Crimson Glory vocalist Todd La Torre but have since stated they fired Tate, replaced him and have continued as Queensrÿche.

The courts refused a temporary injunction sought by management to keep the either side from using the name Queensrÿche. Further the judge actually encouraged both camps to form their own versions of Queensrÿche until the matter is settled. This is just what management hoped to avoid fearing irreparable damage to the Queensrÿche name if this situation occurred. This very situation is going on with Great White, L.A Gunns and a few other bands, causing much confusion with fans.
