Taken from a bootleg DVD that was made from the house feed. The taper didn't bring enough tape to get the end of "The Lady Wore Black" and the final encore of "Silent Lucidity". Some how the taper had a VCR set up in a suite and recorded quite a few shows at the Palace this way.
I tried to fix the drop out at the beginning of the show, it sounds better than it did. Over all a good sounding show, and an excellent performance. The show was divided over 3 DVDs with "The Lady Wore Black"
being the lone track on DVD 3. DVD 1 ended at the feed back just before the track "Operation: Mindcrime" and DVD 2 started during the feed back so I had to splice it. I tried to edit the audio to make a more continuous play.
This was Queensrÿche's first major headlining tour of the USA. On prior tours the band was an opening act, except for the occasional small club/theater show where they would headline. Some fans who met the band during soundcheck convinced them to play "The Lady Wore Black" as an encore. "Last Time in Paris" wasn't available in the US at the time of this recording so it was an added treat for fans to have a soundboard recording of it. It has since been released on the anniversary reissue of Empire.
The band kicks off the show with a sizable chunk of Empire before diving into a full performance of Operation: Mindcrime. The recording has a few hiccups here and there but over all a very enjoyable listen. Rosebud rates the overall recording an 8 while she rates the performance a 10. The third part of the Queensrÿche rating system can not be applied here as "Take Hold Of The Flame" was not played but Geoff does hit a number of very respectable high notes.
