This is Living Colour's first live radio broadcast and the first in the series WBCN Live at TT the Bears. This is a small club gig, Living Colour would soon graduate to much bigger venues, but this is still pretty early in their career. "Cult of Personality" was just starting to break as a single at this time. The band has to enter and exit through the crowd, at the end of the set where the band would leave for an encore break Corey remarks that they can't get through the crowd so they were just going to keep playing. The band rips through the set which includes covers of The Clash and Chuck Berry. The surprise highlight is a cover of folk singer Tracy Chapman's "Talking About A Revolution". This is a must have!!

Living Colour became the standard bearer for the Black Rock Coalition. The B.R.C. was just that, a conglomerate of African American Rock/Hard Rock bands focusing on promoting the fact that African Americans still play Rock And Roll. Corey Glover once said that after rap broke as a viable genre record labels didn't want to know black people still played Rock And Roll so The B.R.C was formed to self promote these bands.

It's interesting that Corey would have a hard time getting his band attention from the media seeing that he already had an acting career. Actors have been able to get their inner rock star attention for a long time. Does anyone remember Don Johnson's Heartbeat, Stevie Ray Vaughan actually played on that disasterpiece ! To be exact on the songs "Heartache Away" & "Love Roulette".
