The 2 Mountain View Amphitheater shows were the 1st outdoor shows of Bruce Springsteen's Tunnel Of Love Tour. This particular show is also the longest show of the North American leg the tour. That's not the only history maker from this set either. "Little Latin Lupe Lu" makes it's return to the set after not being performed since 1977. "Twist And Shout" makes it's return to the set after not being performed since 1988. You also get the soundcheck performances of "I'm So Lonesome I could Cry" and "Crying". I would say if you are a Springsteen fan, you need this one for your collection. The flac files tested lossy so I am only posting this one in MP3 320kbps.

Even though it's only in MP3 since Bruce loves to play Ben Hur style shows I had to separate the files into 2 sets. Both sets can be opened separately

  1. Hi, Dave! I was actually at this show up on the lawn, and it was a good one. Did you rip this from the original discs, or get the files in trade? That is, are the original bootleg wavs upsampled from a lossy source?

    1. That's cool, I always love getting recordings of shows I've seen. As for this one, I downloaded it form a site called Lossless Best https://flac-album.com/ they have a lot of stuff there. Commercial releases and bootlegs. Before I uploaded it I decoded the files because they tested positive for sector boundary errors and I was going to fix them with Trader's Little Helper. I check the files for MP3 with T.L.H. and they were rated at 85-90% MP3. Sometimes I check sometimes I don't, this time I did. So the source I download was upsampled, not sure if all sources for this show are though. I have noticed with store bought bootlegs that a lot are coming up lossy based. I actually walked into one of my favorite CD stores and saw the counter guy at a computer downloading bootlegs from T.U.B.E. So it looks like while we share shows for free to beat the bootleggers, they are downloading shows from the net to beat us as well. Enjoy the show, if I find a real lossless file set I will definitely share it with you!

    2. I just downloaded a copy of the show hosted at T.U.B.E. I checked it for MPEG and it tested as MP3 based. I compared the flac fingerprints and they were a match. So the source itself is upsourced fromMP3 to flac. There is a DVD boot as well, my guess is the Flac may come from the DVD or at least the same source.

  2. Okay....that means my silver CD is most likely sourced from MP3.

And yes...the bootleggers are bootlegging our digitizations. I downloaded a Joe Walsh show hoping I'd gotten something higher quality than the one I made from a slightly noisy NBC The Source show, and heard the exact same surface noise and on the files I'd cleaned up. There's also a Brian Setzer CD out that that I'm sure came from one of my KFOG shows as my track listing quirks (Like "KFOG-FM Outro") were reproducted on the cover.
