Steely Dan released there 5th album, The Royal Scam, in 1976. The album peaked at #15 on the charts, on it's way to being certified gold. The album was actually not as well received by the critics as earlier works. Critics said the album didn't represent any musical growth for the band. But hey it reached #15 on the charts who cares what critics say when fans love what you do! The album itself had a much more guitar oriented sound than previous albums, in large part due to the participation of guitar wizard Larry Carlton. Larry joins the band for this show, to help re-create that album live in it's entirety. The sound for this show is almost flawless, all instruments are clearly heard, and the vocals are crisp. Everyone who loves Steely Dan must have this show, if you don't then consider yourself a poser!!!

Dave. Thanks for posting this. I lost this when my back up decided to fry itself!! Sitting here recovering from eye surgery...this is sounding great. Tip o' the hat to Speedy for putting up a link to your new place. Thanks very much.....Normski (from Tunzworld days)

Normski!!!!!! I'm glad I could help you reclaim an old boot, hope the recovery from the surgery is a speedy one old friend. Can't thank Speedy enough, he's been a huge help getting the word out, so has Brian ...I mean DJ Big B over at KMS Radio (Beaker from Tunzworld) .. and Dino. By the way more Dan boots to come.
