This show is often traded with the wrong date and location of Exhibition Hall, Osaka, Japan, October 10th, 1980. The real date is the one stated above in the show description. I have a couple versions of this DVD and this one is an audio upgrade for sure. All the DVDs available previously were mono TV soundboard recordings while this is a stereo mix. There are a couple mono patches but these are mostly during audience noise and don't take from the enjoyment of this classic concert. After this tour Greg Rolie would leave to be replaced by Johnathon Cain. The transformation to an adult oriented arena rock band would be complete. Gone would be the hard rock/prog rock leanings of the original band. At least we get to hear the instrumental "Kohoutek" and Greg belt out "Of A Life Time" one last time.

  1. I really enjoy your DVD ripped shows. Please keep them coming. And a Journey ?: 1980 Dream after Dream Soundtrack any thoughts on that?

    1. I have lots of DVDs to rip so no problem there. The Dream After Dream soundtrack I do not have. It's still commercially available too so not something I would post on this site (I try not to do that only unofficial or out of print). If I do come across it in my web wanderings I'll let you know and set you up with a private download link for you. Wish I did have it. I heard it was more progressive than anything else they did with Perry.

    1. Thanks for the link, just got it. Will check it out after I get done with this DVD I'm ripping the audio from. It's from Imperial State Electric, Nick Anderson's band he formed after The Hellacopters folded. Just like you would expect from Nick. Good stuff, Thanks for the Journey.
