This is a very nice audience recording. BurnBoy has been recording from the audience for some time now and has his favorite venues on lock. Always carrying more than one recording rig, this human octopus usually handles 3 recording units at a time. He then posts all three on trackers so people can make up their minds which one they prefer. My choice usually is the recordings made with the Sony PCM-M10 like this one. You have some real nice low frequencies usually with his Sony PCM-M10 while he uses a Roland R-05 that gets some real nice crisp highs.
How about the performance you ask. Well for a band that hated the road when they were younger these elder statesmen of Rock And Soul Jazz have become quite the live unit. I have seen Steely Dan in concert quite a few times since they started touring again and every time they just got better and better. The last time they came through Detroit, on the last tour that Walter Becker was still alive was one of the best concerts I have seen in my 60 year life. The sound was so clear you could hear every detail coming from the stage. At the same time it was louder than most Heavy Metal shows at Pine Knob that year!
I recommend BurnBoy recordings to anyone who will listen to a Mike Millard or Dan Limpinski audience recording. You will enjoy BurnBoy recordings, I do...

Thank you, I love the Dan. Sorry I only got to see them 3 times in the past! Although the last time I saw them, with Steve Winwood opening, I recorded the full show with my Tascam DR-05. June 19, 2016 in Vegas. I cleaned it up as much as I could at the time and burned CDs for me to listen to in the car. Came out pretty good. I don't know if there is any interest in this one...

Gman I would love to hear it. That tour was fantastic! It sold out at Pine Knob. First time I had a hard time getting tickets and I have a Pine Knob ticket agent on speed dial. I ended up stage center 2 rows up from the board. Traffic was so bad we missed the first Steve Winwood song got our seats during song 2. You can send it to me at nosferritu@gmail.com it's the website email thanks for the offer

That's great Dave, I'm happy to share. I know my friend tried to talk to me a couple of times during the show, so I hope it isn't too bad, I can't remember. But now there's software to edit that kind of stuff out. I'll send you an email to coordinate sending. Thanks, G.
