This show is on my player right now as I write this. I'm sitting here at my kitchen table, drinking coffee, looking out at my back yard. My backyard extends into some protected Michigan Wetland. It's about 80 feet deep and twice as wide (I have a double lot). I am legally not allowed to do anything with it but enjoy the view. We took our Halloween pumpkins and threw them in the middle of the back field. Right now 3 deer are laying in my back yard as a 4th stands there munching on one of the pumpkins. It couldn't be more relaxing. Have a good Sunday my friends....Ahhh Rosebud's up gotta go...

I sincerely understand this early Sunday morning vibe with a relation to Mother Nature. On the front side of my house I have a view on the whole city of Paris with the Eiffel Tower about 20 km (approximately 12 miles) far but still visible. On the back side, I have my wall of trees (fir, beech, yew, etc.) with plenty of sparrows, chickadees, magpies and pigeons. I love both sides of it. But enough said, will download and try this Pat Metheny Trio concert.
ReplyDeleteThanks and greetings from winter times,
Ahh Derek, that sounds like a beautiful view. I tell you my Sunday Morning lay back time is essential. It's my time just to chill and become one with nature...my Dad is half Native American and since I was a little boy I've been bare foot and outside. Sunday morning on the back porch coffee in hand is where my Dad would be when I would wake up when I was a kid. He would laugh if he knew...

I honestly tried but PM trio isn't my cup of morning coffee. I miss so much Lyle Mays. My morning music is, strangely enough, The Cure's latest album. I saw the band in 1979 and did not follow them seriously since. But this latest offering by Robert Smith is quite powerful, a little in the mood of David Bowie's Dark Star CD. Dark and moving music. Music you only listen to in winter times.
ReplyDeleteI understand Derek Lyle Mays was such an big part of the Pat Metheny Groups sound. You know I never actually got into The Cure I have maybe 2 or 3 cassettes but it never clicked I guess maybe I should try them when I'm in a Bowie mood....
