Another classic bootleg. We have to keep the classics alive for the new collectors!

Ahhh... the same files I snagged from Just Dave in 2013, except he only had the FLAC posted. As it says in the accompanying files:
ReplyDelete"Probably the best sounding Traffic live recording. This is the part of the stream of essential Traffic performances 1967-1974. Traffic opened for the Grateful Dead this night. This was taped off the Dead's soundboard."
Thanks again JD for keeping this great music alive!

Prior to the Anderson Theatre concert, Traffic was in NYC for its gigs at the Fillmore East Feb 18-19. Winwood, Wood, and Capaldi sat-in with the Grateful Dead Nov 16 at the Fillmore. Later, in 1994, when Traffic reunited and opened for the Grateful Dead, on multiple occasions, Jerry Garcia sat-in with Traffic during their opening set on the Dead cover staple “Dear Mr. Fantasy.”
ReplyDeleteFor reasons that are too byzantine to explain, this Traffic concert with the date of November 23, 1970, at the Anderson Theatre is actually from November 18 at the Fillmore East, but no one has said whether it was from the early or late show. It's only a little over an hour, so it may just be the early show. The concert held at the Anderson Theatre on Nov 23 was actually the Dead with NRPS as opening act: https://jerrygarcia.com/show/1970-11-23-anderson-theater-new-york-ny-usa/
