JustDave's Notes
In my collection I have Westwood One Superstars In Concert #SS84-25 and Captured Live #CL783. They both are also from the Warner Theater, Washington D.C. USA February 20, 1980 with different track lists. Original uploaders complete notes are included.
This sounds great, so I think you will enjoy it!

Great to hear Phil again, unfortunately his health is not that good now.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we are getting to an age ourselves where our music and film heroes are getting to an age where their health can be in decline as well. At least we have a great wealth of music from Phil to enjoy!

Do you mean Vinyl (R.i.p)?
ReplyDeleteNo absolutely not, I mean vinyl rip as in ripped from vinyl not from a CD source or cassette LOL but a valid question.

A great show, but I only wish that the full concert was ever available. And by the way, the correct date of this concert is 1983 (2/20), not 1980. His first album, Face Value, was released in 1981 and this is from the tour after Hello, I Must Be Going, released in November of 1982. Thanks again for all the great boots!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gman! It's a typo the paperwork in the file set should be good. You're very welcome for the boots! Lots more to come to...

Hi, Dave....I checked my list and it looks like there were four Westwood One broadcasts of the same set of songs: 84-15, 84-25, 85-10, and 85-26. All the same set, no songs swapped in or out. Now...on my list are two Pop Concert (which I don't have...) that have different tracks. So there may be more Phil on WW1 to track down.
ReplyDeleteHey another challenge hahahahaha!!

Also...your Chicago made me look at my unfinished 2022 folder...and I have the Phil Collins 85-10 in there. As it's the same tracks as 84-25 (on Voodoo Wagon already), this wasn't a high priority...but now that you've done 85-26, I'll finish it up, leaving just 84-15.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I started working the Greg Kihn Band show this morning. Vinyl is in good shape, did a hand wash and a sonic cleaning looks real good should be a good encoding.

Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome again!!

Wow! Prime Phil Collins is a must listen! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome ex_mixer. Phil is such a great talent. As a song writer he can craft an excellent Progressive Rock opus or a Top Ten Pop Ballad. I am a Genesis fan and unlike most longtime fans I love the Phil Collins era just as much as The Peter Gabriel era. Enjoy!!
