This is a very listenable audience recording recently added to Rosebud's Queensrÿche collection. Like me if she won't listen to it more than once she will not share it here. Geoff Tate has been more prolific in his music career since his "separation" with Queensrÿche in 2012. Tate has released 1 album under the Queensrÿche name, Frequency Unknown (which is pretty lackluster to say the least). A solo album, Kings & Thieves which was in production when the breakup came (and is a great album!). 3 albums were released with his band Operation Mindcrime (which are also kick ass!). Then also made 2 very killer albums with the band Sweet Oblivion (some of the best material Geoff has been associated with since the break-up). Sweet Oblivion actually headlined over Queensrÿche in at least one Festival situation.

To be fair Queensrÿche has released 4 albums with the modified line-up fronted by Todd La Torre. Todd La Torre has turned into a very active participant in the writing and recording of every album. Todd also played drums on 2019's The Verdict since Scott Rockenfield it seems will not be returning to the band. That leaves 2 founding members in the band, however guitarist Mike Stone has returned. Mike was first to fill the empty guitar chair when Chris DeGarmo left. There has been a few big money offers to re-unite the Classic Era Line-Up of Queensrÿche, all but Geoff Tate has dismissed them. Geoff states if they could sit in a room and talk it over maybe, but for the remaining members it would have to be about the money, which they don't really need. It's not going to happen, fans need to move on and enjoy the music while they can, the boys are not getting any younger!

  1. the correct date for this show is 2023-04-16. this was the 51st anniversary show of the Rainbow Bar and Grill which also featured Faster Pussycat, Santa cruz, the Zeroes, the hard Way, and Lizzy Borden among others.

    1. Yep all those bands also played, it's on the poster problem is neither I or Rosebud listens to those bands which means we don't post them....As for the date I copy and past the info text most of the time so sometimes some of the info is wrong...I thank you for that and I will fix it. It's on the copy of the poster in the info folder so it must be right.

  2. Thanks, Dave. You, Rosebud, and this blog are all amazing. I wasn't trying to get on your case or anything -- I just figured that someone who is such a devoted music fan like you and Rosebud are would want to know the correct info. The guy who records those Rainbow Anniversary marathon shows does a great job. I have managed to collect seven of his Anniversary shows if you're interested in more of them; although I imagine you probably already have them since you have this one. Keep fighting the good fight my friend.

    1. Actually I only have this one, and I really can't remember where I downloaded it from...maybe Guitars101 but for the life of me no memory. I wouldn't mind being pointed in the right direction of more of them. The one set I actually would like would be the Lizzy Borden set from this show an old friend of mine now gone was a Lizzy Borden freak, always on his stereo when I'd stop over. So I took it the wrong way I get a lot of guff from people and after deleting so many I finally say something and just like this time .. I'm caught being wrong..My Sincere Apologies!!

  3. Dave, it's all good brotha. I know how nasty people can be on the Internet, especially with an anonymous post. My name is Bob, and I'm a music freak and avid collector of ROIO's. I am a huge admirer of what you do, and the deep bond between you and Rosebud warms my heart and soul all over. The guy who records these Rainbow anniversary shows does post them to Guitars101, but he also has his own blog. to get straight to the Rainbow shows, go to

Lizzy Borden played a monster set that day. Your departed friend would be proud of them. In fact, I think I'll crank up their set when I get off from work, and I will smoke up in honor of you, Rosebud and your friend. All the best, Bob.

    1. We called him Mike Of The Metal, he always had all the hot new underground single or album of the day. He wasn't a scenester just a Metal Head to the bone. Lots of fond memories getting high, listening to some underground band talking music, I miss that but feel his spirit when I smoke down and tune out....
