Nina Simone's contributions to Jazz, R & B, Gospel & Soul are immeasurable. Her performances of "The Ghetto" and "Strange Fruit" alone are measuring sticks by which all Lady Soul Singers would be compared to for many generations. From Slave Spirituals "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free" to Pop Rock Hits "Turn! Turn! Turn!", when Nina sings it...she owns it. There is no real way to describe Nina's influence, nor her genius talent. The only way to describe Nina Simone to anyone really, is to play her music!! So ladies and gentlemen, The High Priestess of Soul, Nina Simone!!

One of my favorite artists - thank you! Also, love the diversity of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI do have more Nina Simone, I think actually 2 more shows, that I will post very soon. As a matter of fact I am editing a DVD audio rip, I stopped to check the site, that is a very good sounding show. I will post that one as soon as I finish.

Thank you!
DeleteI agree with Lewis an all the Different Tunes you have. I'd say we are very alike for the most part when it comes to music. . Thanks never really Listein to Nina so this is new. can't wait.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ricky Ru
You're welcome Ricky. When Rosebud and I started this site together we said we would post nothing that we didn't listen to ourselves. We also said no recordings that sound like crap. To this day it's true we only post music from artists we listen to. Talk to you again.
