justdave's notes:
I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I used Goldwave to re-edit some track marks. NO EQ or noise reduction used. The DVD had lossy audio so the waves were encoded to MP3 320kbps using Trader's Little Helper. The tape sound shows a little age but is a damn good listen. "Cure Me Or ... Kill Me" and "Tijuana Jail" from Gilby Clarke's Pawnshop Guitars solo album.
The story is that Slash presented these songs to Axl Rose for a Guns n Roses album. Axl turned them all down saying they were no good. After the Snakepit debut album, It's 5 O'clock Somewhere, was released Axl sued Slash over the songs (too much bullshit went on with Axl). The album kicks some major ass! It also kicks Chinese Democracy's ass (I've listened to Chinese Democracy just once and then shelved it).

Thankx I want everything by Slash that I can find and I log hours doing that, of course among the search for some others as well.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Good to see you still around as well!

The lead singer's name is spelled Eric Dover. I actually got into Snakepit, not through G&R but through my love of Dover's band Imperial Drag. He was in Jellyfish and sang with Alice Cooper for a minute and is currently doing The Lickerish Quartet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX_oe9PcrnA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Dover
ReplyDeleteOops looks like I messed that one up lol!
