Sorry it's been so long since the last post. I had been banned from computer work at night by Rosebud. See I was doing my website stuff at night after she was in bed. I started doing it that way since she went back to work. I was sitting st my computer one night working on a DVD audio rip.I was smoking some very good medical marijuana which should be no surprise. I took a hit, set my pipe and lighter down...the next thing I know I was "waking up" on the floor with Rosebud trying to help me to my chair. Yep, it was the weed, never happened to me before but I've seen it happen a few times. Rosebud however (God bless her she takes such good care of me) didn't accept that as a answer. She banned me from working on my computer when she wasn't awake or home (so almost never). So since she is my partner in everything I said okay. Rosebud had me into our family doctor for a physical and my neurologist for tests. The conclusion of both, be a little more careful smoking my weed because of my nephropathy medication. It heightens the "high" of marijuana (who knew). I have always been truthful with my Doctors about my smoking. None of them had told me, but I guess I should have known. Rosebud lectured me, but here I am!!
As far as music goes all of the Christmas Music links should still be working. We have 24 Christmas related shows online for your pleasure. Let me know if any do not work let me know. I posted a few more shows as well. A Peter Green Era Fleetwood Mac Transmission Impossible 3 CD set, A soundboard recording from Al Di Meola, A Doors recording from 1970 that is supposed to be a lower quality broadcast recording but I think it's an excellent audience recording, an awesome FM broadcast recording of The Legendary Hot Tuna, An FM broadcast recording of the Vince Gill era Pure Prairie League, and a DVD audio rip of a Chris Cornell solo acoustic show.
About us...Rosebud continues to grow more comfortable in her job. She also has risen in the ranks since there is so many people looking for better jobs than they had before the covid-19 lock down. There have been a few people leave the business so Rosebud was able to elevate to a slightly higher position. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful wife for the past 24 years!
More music to come, a lot sooner too!

It's always concerning when you disappear for a long stretch of time. Glad to know that you are hanging in there. Thank goodness it's legal in Mich, as if that has ever made a difference to me. It sounds as if Rosebud is a very caring spouse and that is a very good thing. Keep up the good blog as best you can. It is one of the best diverse blog on the web. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays (your choice). Ho,Ho,Ho, from Jackson,MI
ReplyDeleteP.S. tell Rosebud we also missed her picks.
Wow, that is quite a report! Sorry you took a tumble. I hope it's the last one!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all the music always, including this new batch. I know this has been a very challenging year for you. I sure hope 2022 is a bit easier!
Hi Dave, fine to see you back. Take care of you and make what Rosbud say (Greetings :-) - always the easier way & finally she´ll get it anyway.
ReplyDeleteAll the best for you both
Belexes
@justdave - stay well and safe my friend! MeeryVhristmas and Happy 2022 to you and Rosebud!
ReplyDeleteHi Dave,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that Rosebud is taking such good care of you. It's probably better that you are not up nights working on the computer. Save your strength for healing. No matter how good your blog is (and it's pretty darn good), it is not worth your health and safety.
Stay well my friend and give extra kisses to Rosebud for all she does.
Bob W.
PS: I'm very glad to hear you are doing well, hang in there, it will get better.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're alright. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. The long gap had me fearing the worst.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Everyone!!! I am truly Blessed to have so much support. I thank God everyday for My Rosebud, Family & Friends. Thank You.

Thanks for the update. It seems we're all getting a bit older and struggling with some medical conditions. But we're still rocking on and enjoying the good music. Will definitely grab the acoustic Al Di Meola.
ReplyDeleteAll the best for the festive season end of this year to Rosebud and you,
Derek from Paris
FYI the La Bamba 3rd Annual Christmas Show links seem to be corrupt.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your tumble, glad you have a wonderful wife to pick you up when you are down.
ReplyDeleteForget the music, send me some of your 'medicine'!
ReplyDeleteWish I could do that for you Mark. I take a drug called Gabapentin for the nerve damage in my legs and feet. The pain is like hot needles. You don't actually get high off the Gabapentin, but it magnifies the highs of other drugs. Gabapentin actually has just became a controlled substance in The USA because heroin addicts found out if they mix the drugs you get higher. The weed I was smoking that night , I had 3 strains berry skunk, ice cream cake & gelato. I put some of each in the grinder to blend. I put that in my pipe and bam the floor threw itself at me.

Hi Dave (and Rosebud - who holds everything together),
DeleteI have the same problem with my legs and feet, the Gabapentin didn't seem to work, so the Dr. had me take a much larger dose for a week, and then back down to my normal dose. It seemed to blast away that pain, and it now is in check. I described my pain as that feeling you get when your arm or leg "falls asleep" and starts waking up, and the pain just lasts and lasts. Hot needles works too.
A very happy new year to you and Rosebud.
Can't remember if I said the links were corrupt for La Bamba Christmas Show or the files, but it's the files. Sorry, I was indulging in some of Oregon's finest when I posted it.
ReplyDeleteI understand I partake in the finest Michigan has to offer quite often as well . I assumed you were talking about the flac files set. I tested and unzipped all the files successfully using 7-Zip. When I tested them with WinRar I got an Unexpected End Of Archive Error Message. So the problem may lay there for you. Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks, I'll try 7-Zip next.
Delete7-Zip did the job, thanks! Re: you going to brush something off your shoulder and it was the floor, a reference from a comedy album from the '70s, a group of friends refers to that as a "whitie" or white out. I first heard the term on a website dedicated to Amsterdam tourism. There they suggest that if you are the victim of a whitie while visiting a coffeeshop that you should have a Coke or other sweet beverage and the sugar will revive you. I don't envy you having to be on that medication, but no complaints on that side effect. Get and stay well!!! Happy New Year.
DeleteGlad 7-Zip did the job for you. I use either winrar of 7-Zip depending on the file. Never heard the term "whitie" but it's a good name. Unfortunately I am also a diabetic so the soda is out, I do however keep glucose tabs on hand so if it ever happens again I'll be ready!

Love is all.
ReplyDeleteHey, Dave! Long time, no yadda yadda, but feel free to drop me a line anytime. Glad to hear you're doing okay, jeez, we're all aging into our "heart attack years". In my case I'm trying to figure out how to make it through another decade, as my feckless step-daughter and worthless husband managed to die of drug overdoses, leaving me to raise my step-grandson (just turned 9). Ah, he's going to get to grow up listening to the best music, ever, so there's a bright side....:)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the loss, but you are right he'll grow up listening to great music. Good to hear from you!

draftervoi - I have a 9 year old grandson who spends a great deal of time with me (has since he was born). His mom and dad work a lot, and since I'm close I get him. He knows that his grandparents love him. I am so glad to have him in my life. I am so sorry about your step-daughter and her husband. Enjoy your step-grandson, he is still young enough to listen to your advice and music. Best of luck to you.
