Our friend analogkid610 commented that we should have more Uriah Heep on the site. Since Rosebud was in charge of picking shows this week, I told her to pick one out. This is what she said.

Okay so I can't remember all the music Dave exposes me to..the stereo is on like 24-7. I looked through all the files on the hard drives. There are 4 of them hooked up. When I found the right spot, I opened the folder and looked at the end of each of the sub folders looking for SBD, FM, or ExAud and in big letters I see Pre-FM. That's my choice, so I start listening to it and realized I know and really like these guys. Like I said Dave plays so much different stuff it's hard to remember. I gave my list to Dave and he said "Yeah! That one...was just talking about finding it." So there you go....lolol

    1. That's the one we spoke about right? Hope so. I saw these guys when I was pretty youg as the opening act for Kiss. It was a band called No Dice, then Uriah Heep, then Kiss. I think it was the first round of dates for Destroyer, with the ruins on the stage. It's a bit fuzzy, I was around 13 I think. I seen Uriah Heep in the 1990s too. It was Heep, Blue Oyster Cult and headlining was Nazareth. Nazareth was on their 30th anniversary tour. The shirts said 30 Years And Still Going. So Heep & B.O.C. got together and rented a big energizer bunny beating a bass drum to send out on stage during Nazareth's set, which Nazareth had no idea about. When it came out on stage Dan McCafferty busted out laughing and the band quit playing. It took a good 15 minutes before Nazareth could start playing again. Ya gotta love practical jokes.

  2. I envy you : you saw in concert Uriah Heep during its golden age (even if the end of this era was approaching and even if you were maybe too young to fully appeciate it). I love the big energizer bunny story !

    1. Yeah, it comes with age I guess. I've saw some good bands at some cool points of their careers. I saw a then unknown Van Halen open for Black Sabbath. My 1st Deep Purple experience was when they had Dave Coverdale, Glen Hughes, and Tommy Bolin in the group. I saw Ozzy with Randy Rhoads. Saw The Clash at a bowling ally when there wasn't a decent sized club in Detroit for Punk shows. Aw man I forgot this one. My cousin and me were walking around Eastern Michigan University trying to find some weed. We heard music coming out off some student hall. There was this kinda weird guy hanging outside smoking and pacing back and forth. We walked up and asked the guy if he knew were we could score. He pulls out a bag asks if I could roll. I pulled out my pipe and we all walked around the back to smoke. He said he was playing that night and gave us some passes. I was De De Ramone. WE saw the Ramones for free dude. I didn't know who they were but damn I was hooked. I need to right a book like Speedy's about my life in concerts.
