Sorry about the long wait between posts. I have been a little distracted since my Mom & Dad, My younger brother, his wife and their son were all diagnosed with covid-19. My Mother has recuperated well. My brother, his wife and son all are feeling better as well. My Father is not bouncing back and has been i and out of hospital 4 times. My Father is a 72 year old Veteran of The Viet Nam - American War. He was in the 1st Armored Division, clearing vegetation. My Father was exposed to Agent Orange doing his job there. He suffers from all kinds of ailments from this exposure. The least of which is glowing purple spots on his body under a black light. He has non-Hodgkin lymphoma and Parkinson's disease also attributed to his exposure. He is now covid-19 free but it has brought along a lot of lingering complications due to his other illnesses. I use this blog as an escape of the real world sometimes so I'll continue making posts but they may be a little sporadic for now.
Thank You JustDave
Thank you to your father for his service. My father was also served in Viet Nam and was also exposed to Agent Orange. Thankfully though he's just getting old (78 this year) and hasn't (yet?) shown any real effects. Having a bit of Covid myself I can relate (somewhat). Glad to hear all are well and getting better. Stay healthy.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Dave. This Covid Biz fucking BLOWS - as you well know. Hoping for the best for your Pops. I too use my blog as an escape, so thanks for keeping it at it when you can. That latest Savatage post was fire, by the way. Oliva sounds like he swallowed a "Brown Sound" pill on this one, holy crap! Take Care, JD!!!
ReplyDeleteSending prayers for your family for a speedy recovery. Thank you for all the music you share, it has helped me through some tough times as well. Tell your father I thank him for his service to our country.
ReplyDeleteThank your father for his service to our country and for raising a good kid who enjoys good music and sharing it with friends he doesn't know. We appreciate not only the music but information that makes it even more fun to discover. Prayers to your family and hopefully a fun and healthy 2021 to you and yours. John B.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for the struggles you and your family are going through. I really appreciate your sharing of so much great music. Escape is often what those of us coming here are looking for as well, so I certainly understand.
ReplyDeleteDo understand how you feel like with all that Covid thing. My mother aged 83 was in hospital for a surgery and 4 times Covid tested, two times positive, two times negative. She really didn't need that supplementary stress. She's alright now.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your family's struggles with Covid and the lingering effects of your Dad's brave military service. My thanks to him for that. I too am caring for my Mom through an illness unrelated to Covid but that prohibits her from doing most normal things (take out trash, grocery shop, etc).
ReplyDeleteSending health and healing to your Dad and all your family members.
So sorry about your dad.
ReplyDeletePlease let your Father know how much gratitude we have for his military service!! Thanks so very much for sharing all this great music. your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated!!
ReplyDeletebest to you and your family
ReplyDeleteHi Dave,
ReplyDeleteYou have no reason to apologize. You have more than enough on your plate. Post as often or as seldom as you want.
Thank your father for his service. I'm also 72, but did not serve, but respect those that do. My prayers are with you and your family.

(Other) Dave, I wish you and your family a full and quick recovery. This fucking virus is affecting so many people, across so many countries. Keep your pecker up and keep the faith (whichever one you choose). Cheers (other) Dave

ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for you very kind words & prayers. My Dad seems to be improving some and then not. His Parkinson's seems to be worsened by the fight with the virus. Doctor's of course do not know the extent of damage that can be permanently done by the virus on preexisting conditions.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your prayers
Dave
Best wishes to your dad from Down under Dave. He'll get through this. Peace and good wishes.
