Ah, I love this period of Savatage. It was just as the bands Progressive Metal leanings started to come into their song writing. The Gutter Ballet is one of my favorite albums. So much passion was put into the lyrics, and performances. The band then started it's eventual morphing into Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I have been a fan of Savatage since the very early days when I received a copy of the Avatar demo in the mail. This was back in the day of snail mail tape trading. I was privileged enough to have seen them a few times, before the death of Chris Oliva at Harpo's in Detroit, Michigan. A small, dirty relic of a theater from the Punch & Judy Days that became a Heavy Metal Hole In The Wall for decades.

  2. I had a radio b-cast from the Edge Of Thorns tour. It was from the State Fairgrounds in Detroit, MI, only around 75 minutes. Sadly I cannot find that tape.

    1. Oh man, Bud_e_luv_bomb, that sucks didn't know there was a recording from that show let alone a broadcast. I guess I have to try and track that one down. I am a huge Savatage fan. I've been there since the first demo, love every phase they went through actually. I love Edge Of Thorns. That's where Rosebud comes into them. She loves the Zachary Stevens era. Thanks for giving me the heads up on that one.
