Plain and simple Nguyên Lê is a kick ass guitarist that all that love Jazz Guitar should check out. As a matter of fact I have already share 2 Nguyên Lê shows from his Jazz Tribute To Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon (here & here). They were pretty popular, now's your chance to hear his playing in a more stripped down musical setting. From the Pat Metheny-esque beginning of "Jazz Nelson" to the frenetic McLaughlin-isms of "Dance Of The Comet" this show should prove to be a very pleasant listen.

Very nice! If you are interested I have SBDs of the Dead with Branford sitting in - 2 shows in 1991 - 03/29 and 9/10 - let me know!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and RoseBud!
I definitely would be interested in those shows. I like The Dead and I do have some shows on my drive from them. The added element of Branford (or any one else jamming with them for that matter) brings out more, not quite the way I wanted to say that lol. But yes would love to hear more of him and The Dead jamming.
DeleteHave A Happy And Safe Thanksgiving To All At House Speedy!!
A great guitarist! I've added two shows on my blog you may enjoy.

I love Nguyên Lê. I actually have 1 of those shows already. The Estaval Jazz show. The date on that one is actually July 12, 2018. For some reason the sites were all listing the dates differently than I have seen. The date actually was written as 12-07-2018 but the next tour date was 14-07-2018 weird but it was July instead of December. The 2nd show you had I grabbed as well. I'll be listening to that tonight. Also if you like the Estival Jazz 2018 show you also need the one I have where he plays Dark Side with The NDR Big Band it's on the site here

ReplyDeleteThanks, I'll check this out!
ReplyDeleteYou may like it. Nguyên Lê is a really talented guitarist. Like John McLaughlin he has a few different projects including a trio that plays a fusion of Jazz and Vietnamese folk music. He has also done a Jazz Fusion tribute to Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon.
