This is show in Rosebud's Salute To Her Favorite Singers is #1 for the Freddie Mercury segment. This recording from Queen's 1986 tour in support of the A Kind Of Magic album is considered to be one of the best from that tour. This is a 100% complete recording with no cuts or fade ins/fade outs. An added bonus is that "Fish", lead vocalist of Marillion, joins in on "Tutti Frutti".
When I sat with Rosebud last night to preview this recording before post, it caused a big emotional response from me. See my 5 year old Grandson lives in Japan with my daughter while her husband serves in the US Navy. I miss him terribly and will not see him for another 2 years. When Freddie sang "Is This The World We Created?" I cried. Reason being, with the way things are in my country, I think he's safest there. I don't want to turn The New JDP into a big political debate or my personal soapbox (it's my safe place) so I will just say..everyone in the world no matter their actual political view can see the US is not well. My Grandson is half way around the globe, safe. God I miss him.

JustDave & Rosebud, Thank you so much for posting this. I've just checked audio quality is pretty good, so I look forward to listening to it all later.
ReplyDeleteI was at this show (the only time I saw Queen) - having been traveling around Europe from the uk. Gary Moore, Level 42 and Marillion also played. It was a really hot day and I remember toward the end of their set the gaps between songs got longer and longer. Thank you so much for this.
Best of luck with your family, and hope the election/situation goes alright for you (and the world).
You are very welcome Bambi! Thank you so much for sharing your memory with us! Queen is a band I never saw in concert. It's one of those bands on the list of if you could go back in time and catch one band live who would it be. Right up there with the original Allman Brothers Band, Genesis with Peter Gabriel, Elvis Presley, The MC5 etc. I hope you enjoy the recording. I am so glad that I could help you relive that memory in the comfort of your home.
