This classic Kool & The Gang show catches the band during their Chart Topping Days. After the addition of James "JT" Taylor on vocals, Kool & The Gang had their most successful albums. This era would yield 6 Platinum albums, 1 Double Platinum album and 2 Gold albums. This show is from the tour to promote their 13th album Something Special. Promote it they did. Something Special became their 3rd Platinum album in a row. This fabulous live Funk, Jazz, Soul, Disco Hybrid Monster never disappoints their audiences. The road is their home.
Thank you. Whew, a lot of their horn players have died...
ReplyDeleteI have to update the member list. Since the original upload I did of this show drummer George Brown and saxophonist Dennis Thomas have both passed away. Bassist Robert "Kool" Bell is the last original member of the band alive. At the time of the recording, they were a well oiled Live Music Machine.
