This tour came after a 6 year hiatus for The Moody Blues. After the success of the Seventh Sojourn LP and tour The Moody Blues went on a long hiatus so that the members could release some solo material and spend time with their families. During the interviews of this recording the band actually admits that they just couldn't stand one another any more. After 6 years they decided to get back together and see if the magic was still there. Thankfully it was and the band wrote and recorded the Octave LP and the fans were more than pleased. We lost Ray Thomas January 4, 2018 at the age of 76, no cause of death has been released.

  1. Hey, Dave! Did you digitize this one yourself? I've got the syndicated discs (in the original "dotted box") and was planning to get to it some day, but you may have saved me the trouble!

    1. Actually Dave I downloaded this one from The Traders Den I do believe. It's a pretty good encoding though so still might save you a little work.

    4. I'm assuming that jealously is because I'm married to such a stunningly beautiful woman! :)

    5. LOL!! I have actually never seen The Moody Blues live so a little jealous. One of my first ever paying gigs as a musician was after I joined a wedding band as a backup singer for a great lady vocalist (who's name escapes me in my old age). I had three vocal solos that night The Hollies He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother, The Beatles Oh Darling and The Moody Blues Nights In White Satin. OK so just a peak at the musical skeletons in my closet.
