Performing in The Legend spot at this years Glastonbury Festival is Barry Gibb. Barry runs through a great set of songs from his long career. Barry Gibb is the only Gibb brother left as Maurice, Robin, and Andy have all passed on. Barry is in fine voice (a little aged but the man is 70) this is a must have show in my humble opinion.

What a guilty pleasure here!! It seemed like every time my clock/radio went off in the morning during HS, a song from Saturday Night Fever was playing!! Thanks Dave!!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Paul! I used to hang out at the local roller rink back in my junior and high school years. The Bee Gees were the main soundtrack of the night , even the other artists of the day were recording songs written by The Bee Gees. Always been a guilty pleasure for me as well. Had my Disco Sucks T-Shirt but ignored the fact that The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Kiss, Alice Cooper and more Rockers that I can't remember released Disco tracks.

Love, love, love the Bee Gees - thanks for this recent show by Barry!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Stewart! Hope you enjoy it, myself I think he sounds great for being 70. Wish he would have done "Massachusetts" or "New York Mining Disaster 1941" which are a couple personal favorites but that's not a complaint, I mean he did "Words" and "I've Gotta Get a Message to You", you can't do them all right.

Great show indeed ! Very very nice. I remember those days where amongst my friends, heavy rockers or prog lovers, we used to hate disco music and secretly were listening to the beat of "staying alive" with a shameful feel. Dear old adolescent days !
