Our Sunday Morning Jazz offering for this week comes from Jazz Fusion pioneer Gary Burton. The Gary Burton Quartet also featured at this time, a little known guitarist by the name of Pat Metheny. Pat would later go on to great success as the leader of The Pat Metheny Group.

A question --- how come you never provide lossless for your "jazz" offerings? Only makes sense that high quality music ought to be represented by high quality resolution.
ReplyDeleteI provide the lossless files when I have them, this boot was downloaded in MP3 224kbps from a website called BigO that never posts in lossless. Some of the other Jazz Bootleg sites I use also never post in lossless. I do download Jazz bootlegs in lossless from some sources and have posted some of them on this site already. Sorry I can't provide the lossless files from this bootleg to you because it is only posted lossless on Dime so far and I do not have a membership there. A Future planned double shot of Herbie Hancock (that's two boots next week) will both be in flac.

Thanks for taking the time to consider my query, Dave, and for explaining your sources. You do offer a good bit of lossless and that is always very much appreciated, so here too, when you've got the jazz in FLAC to offer, you've made at least one fan of your blog a happy fan. Thanks a bunch for all your efforts.
ReplyDeleteNo problem my friend, I always try and answer the questions and comments left by visitors. I know it annoys me when I ask a question and it goes unanswered. I have a couple great sounding lossless boots from Herbie Hancock (one from the Mwandishi Band period the other from the Rockit Band period planned for this week plus and as yet not chosen boot for our annual Jazz On Sunday post. So at least three new Jazz posts this week.
