As for this recording...how could you miss with a line up like that huh? Someone had the idea to take 3 of the best bass players in Jazz, put them on one stage and have them jam. Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten and Marcus Miller combine their talents to create some of the most Bass-tastic music. If you didn't get this from Floppy Boot Stomp (or was it Voodoo Wagon) get it now!

Hi justdave, a belated message to say welcome back and just to let you know that the links have got muddled between this SMV gig in Juan Les Pins and their gig in Vienne (which is not the same as Vienna, by the way). This MP3 link (jdsmvjavvf09m) is for Jazz a Vienne whereas, at that post, the link (jdsmvjlpf09m) is the MP3 link for Juan Les Pins. Anyway, cheers, Dave Sez (your source for SMV and Marcus Miller at floppy and voodoo, thanks for the shout-out!).
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me know I had the links backwards. Been re-posting a lot of stuff and I knew there was going to be mistakes.

Thanks JD. As I think I had mentioned before, Marcus Miller came to Vegas for the free Jazz in the Park series this year. His set wasn't simulcast on Facebook (strange, as all the rest always are), so I had to use my little tascam to capture it. It was a bit windy but I think it came out alright. Yet another recording, of many that I need to master and get to you!
ReplyDeleteMarcus Miller sells some of his shows on his website, he may have had plans to market that show. Marcus is one of the best Jazz/Funk bassists there is. Who ever had the idea to put these 3 together is a musical mad genius. I have a few shows from this band and they all are a subwoofer bumping treat for the ears. Now you have a Marcus Miller show I don't have whats a bootleg site runner gotta give up for that one? Hahahaha just kidding G! At your leisure my friend always. I still have a couple Spyro Gyra gigs to get ready for you yet. I'll be starting those today should have at least one ready for you in a couple days. I think your gonna like them.
