Oh, yeah! I've been looking for this one for AGES. With the "signal loss" that's noted this may be from the original FM broadcast...or perhaps from the later syndicated broadcast. Nick's Whisky show was part of a three cd set of a 1993 Labor Day radio special featuring Nicks, Kansas, and the Moody Blues. I think I sent you the Moody Blues already, if I didn't, let me know!. The syndicating network was Entertainment Radio Networks and it's the only show I have them, they're pretty rare. It appears set by Kansas was officially released on "Live At The Whisky."
ReplyDeleteYep you sent me the Moody Blues Whisky gig, The Kansas gig was released in 1992. The recording is great but lead vocalist Steve Walsh was having a real bad night when it was recorded. I own the cassette tape of the show and actually it's one I don't listen to often. It received some really bad reviews because of his voice failing through out the whole show. My wife and I seen Kansas that year and we walked out after a few songs since Walsh sounded like Lemmy from Motorhead. Love Lemmy but not singing for Kansas.

That's a bit baffling, then, as to why they released it officially.
ReplyDeleteThe Whisky is one of those clubs that I shoulda gone to, back in the day....I should have made a pilgrimage to L.A. and just seen whoever the hell was there on a given night, just to have done it.
I'm not sure either, I'm gonna send you a coppy so you can check it out.
