Another great choice from Rosebud's collection! This Pre-FM recording from David Bowie's Sound & Vision Tour doesn't really hold too many suprises in it's Greatest Hits set. Their is the performance of "Fame" which is done in a Dance Remix kind of style. That being said David is in fine voice and this show should be owned by the casual Bowie fan and fanatic alike. Oh, and Adrian Belew plays guitar on it so hey another bonus!

There are at least 11 David Bowie Westwood One Superstars In Concert shows drawn from the Tokyo concerts. Your set list matches 91-26, 91-45, and 92-15. I've got the vinyl version (90-47) that adds Starman, Life On Mars, Blue Jean, and Station To Station (and drops three songs). I've also got 98-46 (adding Heroes, and Rock n' Roll Suicide, dropping two songs).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info D-man!

Love these WW1 Pre-FM Shows! As always, I appreciate you sharing them Dave!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Camarillo Brillo! I have quite a few Pre-FM bootlegs from Westwood One and others. I will definitely be sharing a whole lot more of them.

That's awesome!
DeleteYeah, it's a bit baffling. Usually when these shows cooked up a set list, they just repeat it, over and over, they don't re-edit the show from a master tape again. But with this Bowie....they edited a new set list six or seven times.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty surprising to have that many edits of the same show. There's like 11 songs being shuffled around, But with all of them one might be able to combine them to make a more complete source of the show though it would be some work. As always thanks for the info Draftervoi and all the rest you do!

I've got the vinyl digitized from the show just before this one...or at least I think I've got it digitized. I'll see if I can find it for you this weekend.
DeleteThat would be awesome if you do D-man, (wasn't hinting at that though) it's always appreciated my friend. I'll have to start uploading one of your boots every time I upload something just to get caught up with you (not a bad problem to have mind you lol) you contribute so much thank you.

Check your in-box, I've sent the link.
DeleteThanks Draftrvoi! Email checked and sent!

Great, I think you'll both enjoy it. I also have 98-46 (which has the only broadcasst of Heroes and R&R Suicide that I've been able to track down. and 00-12, which adds "Stay." I haven't tracked those yet but I'll get to them soon. Then we can tackle your idea of merging them all together into a 95% complete version.....
DeleteWhen you can get to them D-man ...
