OK Filefactory had a couple servers crash recently so they were unavailable for a couple days. Then when they come back on line, some files were lost. Not that many actually but some. Also some servers are working slowly, when this happens free users are given the message that the server is too busy please try back later. This is to give paying customers enough band width, (their practice not mine) I will be working to re-upload the files that are missing and the ones that are on the affected servers. Please be patient as it will take a little time to fix the links. I work 60 plus hours a week at my job so I only have limited time to make posts and re-posts so bear with me a little.
When asking for a re-post of a file please don't just write "File is not working" or copy and past the error code into the comments section. It would be nice if the words please and thank you get used in the request. Also let me know if it is the Flac or MP3 link you are having trouble with, it will save me the time of figuring out which file is needed so I can make the re-post for you that much faster.

Justdave - hope all is well my friend with you & Rosebud. I feel your pain with filefactiry as I'm having the same issues. And I echo your sentiment - I tend to upload repost requests much quicker when the request is apolitical one!

Absolutely - every comment should include a please and a thank you and a note about how great the music is. Thanks for all you do, Dave, and I'm sorry about these Filefactory issues! (Which I have noticed and, as a FF subscriber, hope they get fixed)
ReplyDeleteHey dave. Love you blog. I 'm sure that dealing with the tech issues with the file sharing site is a pain. Stuff like that made me quit my blog (had all my files deleted twice). I came back but refuse to make this stuff my life, and if people request re-posts, they better leave a name, and a kind word. Anonymous telling me links are dead like I'm their servant won't motivate me to take time away from my kid and wife to refresh dead links. Anyway. just thought I would say, I understand and have respect fopr you and this blog. T-H-A-N-K-S!!!

Thanks for all you do, Dave - love your blog. I hope the FF issues resolve themselves soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the kind words, and support. It gets a little frustrating when you get about fifteen "link dead" "fix link". Like all the rest who host these blogs I do it because I enjoy it and have met many great people in the process. We get quite a few really nice people who visit and leave some really nice comments. We even get some visitors who share their experiences at the very shows we post (always cool!!). What the people who leave the bad comments don't think about is how many great blogs have gone down in the past because the blogger just got tired of the ungrateful oral minority and quit. Every time they aggravate a blogger to the point of quitting we lose another bootleg resource. Anyone of us could just pack it in then they have to find another source for QUALITY bootlegs that you actually want to listen to.
ReplyDeleteAnyway thank you for listening to my rant.. AZ love your blog it's the most visually pleasing of any I have visited Thank you for all the music I have gotten from you! Speedy, you are the man! With the Tunz Master retired you have the #1 site for great sounding boots, Thank you for everything!! Now I'm going to fix some linx.

I've wondered about that, too, Dave. One thing that I've considered in mitigation is that there are a lot of fans for whom English is not a native language. We're now in an era where we're bumping up against people who literally can't speak the language but may be trying to communicate across a language barrier but dont' bother to tell us that. On the other hand...god knows there are plenty of people who speak English as their native language who are just rude.
ReplyDeleteThanks for bringing that up Daftervoi I actually hadn't considered that point. In my top five places that I get visits from are France, Germany, and Spain, The US and Great Britain being first and second. Lokks like I should rethink my position on that subject.
