The info that came with this boot was that it was a rebroadcast of the 1970 Paris Theatre performance premiering songs from John Barleycorn Must Die. I have not compared this show with a different copy I have of the Paris Theatre 1970 gig so I can't be sure. At any rate this is a great sounding performance and recording. Chris Wood passed away July 12, 1983 of pneumonia at the age of 39. Jim Capaldi passed away January 28, 2005 at the age of 60 from stomach cancer.

  3. I haven't listened to this yet, but "Low Spark" was released in 1972 and "Shootout" in 1973, so this may not entirely be a 1970 performance. In any case thanks for some classic Traffic!

  5. I am likewise confused by the track listing and performance date, but am enjoying the performances nonetheless. Ka-BOOM!

  6. I received this with that information so that is what I included. What I have been hoping that somebody who really knows their Traffic history and bootlegs will come along and give us all the correct date or dates of this real great sounding recording. So hopefully that will come to pass but until we can all enjoy the tunes.

  7. JD: This will be interesting :) I now have a QualityBootz FLAC that lists its source as "FM/SDB"; a second QualityBootz FLAC that sources the BBC transcription disks and also includes Every Mothers Son and Stranger to Himself; and a BigO MP3 (at 320 kbps) that says it is a merge of the BBC disk and a "pre-broadcast with *patches from a 1st gen. off-air FM reel". And of course now your posting. None of the three I already had included Low Spark or Shootout.

You're always providing us with interesting stuff!

The QualityBoots links are all dead now, but the BigO files are still live.
