The Fabulous Thunderbirds

Kim Wilson - Vocals, Harmonica
Jimmie Vaughan - Guitar

Fran Christina - Drums

Two great bands in one sweet sounding Pre-FM package. The retro Rock & Roll of The Smithereens and the southern fried Fabulous Thunderbirds. Draftervoi did a great job with the encoding this one. The classic commercials have been left but are chaptered so if you don't want to play them you don't have to. I know I say this a lot ... But if you don't have this show in your collection you  really should!!

I actually have meet Kim Wilson, I am a mechanic and he brought his car to my shop for some routine maintenance and when I went to ring up his sale he handed me a credit card that said Kim Wilson The Fabulous Thunderbirds. I confessed I had recognized him but didn't want to draw attention to him while he waited for his car to be finished. He thanked me for that and we chatted for a while. Turns out he lives in my town and became a regular customer. He had moved here to Michigan after meeting a local girl at Pine Knob Music Theatre and soon after married her. He's been a Michigan resident since.

  2. Thanks Randy, I heard the news... no worries about me steering clear of Blackberry Smoke because I have never heard of them till Hear Rock City started posting their music and I still haven't heard their music. Since I only post bands I personally listen to we'll be good thanks for the heads up!

  3. Yeah that sucks about HRC - got some great stuff from there. Hopefully the blog will resurface. Thanks for The Smithereens and the Rush from Pinkpop. Went to my first Rush show about 6 months prior to that festival/

  5. Yup I am still lurking. Always looking for new live stuff. I look at about a half a dozen or so blogs on a daily basis - yours, HRC, TUBE, So Many Roads, Plumdusty, The Clock That Went Backwards to name a few. Have found several others that didn't really have much to pique my interest. Any other suggestions?

And thanks for the new link to HRC. Hope your move has gone well.

  7. Yup Soundaboard is one I visit daily. Are you familiar with Vive Les Bootlegs? Lots of hard rock and metal. This one seems to go on hiatus every now and again. Thought it was dead (no posts for a very long time), then was active again, now it's quiet. Check it out if you haven't been there before.
