Known Faults:
- Has a low frequency hum audible between songs, not noticeable during music
- "Slat Key Soquel Rag" beginning cut
- "I Cheat The Hangman" beginning cut

The only other fault is it's not in your collection which you could easily fix by clicking the download link of you choice. Alright funny story...My Mom liked the 2 Michael McDonald sung singles "Minute By Minute" and "What A Fool Believes" so asked me who sang them. I got my Minute By Minute tape to show her the cover. She went out and bought the LP at the local K-mart. When she got home and opened it, she saw the big picture of a joint roach on the inner record sleeve, brought the record to me and took my cassette!

Listening to this brought back the memory of being in my teens when "Werewolves Of London" was released. It was all over Detroit radio, being one of the few Warren Zevon songs to make the charts. It was, in my memory, a big hit and part of that years summer soundtrack. I used to spend a lot of my summers hanging out with my cousins. I had been to my cousin Preston's for a few weeks and had just returned home. I walked into my bedroom to find my older brother and an older cousin sitting in my room listening to the radio. I saw the "Werewolves Of London" single on my turntable that my cousin had brought over. I turned it on and turned it up. A few seconds later my Dad walked in with a pair of wire cutters, cut my stereo's power cord and walked out. Seems my brother and my cousin were playing the song over and over till my Dad threatened to cut the power. It became a thing, if my Dad thought my stereo was being played too loud he would walk in and cut the cord. When I moved out the power cord was about 4 inches long...

There are a few bootlegs out that feature this show. There are from what I have seen 2 Pre-FM versions of this show. A Pre-FM vinyl version and this version from a Pre-FM Reel. From what I understand the uploader of this Pre-FM Reel version is not even a Rush fan. The concert recording was featured as filler on a DAT from a trade. Thankfully the uploader new what he had would make Rush fans very happy so he uploaded it to the net. This seems to be a raw transfer of the recording, no crossfades were done so a couple transitions are a little rough but all the music is a fantastic listen! And I get a live Pre-FM quality recording of my favorite Rush tune "Natural Science"!

Short broadcast from Krokus promoting the Metal Rendez-vous release. Metal Rendez-vous was the first Krokus album to feature vocalist Marc Storace, it was also the first to break through on American Radio. Metal Rendez-vous was also my first Krokus album, recommended by a fellow Metalhead in my school and guitarist for a rival band that I had much respect for. When I popped the record on it wasn't an immediate love affair. What made me like the band and album was a very short live recording. This was quite a few years ago so I can't remember where the recording was made but it proved that Krokus was a damn good live act.

When I first got a chance to see Krokus it was as the opening act for Def Leppard for the Leppard's first Detroit headline show. A show I was very eager to see having seen Def Leppard on their High And Dry tour in Ohio. I may offend some Def Leppard fans but Krokus kick Def Leppard's ass all over that Detroit stage. It had the same effect as seeing Van Halen blow Black Sabbath off the stage in Detroit, I became a fan for life!

Another great recording by this quartet of Legends. This show can best be described as "An Hour Of Greatness". Can you tell that this line up blows the back of my head right off. Even on their worst night, these players will eclipse what/who ever else is on the bill. I have this one playing right now while I sit between the speakers in my computer room posting music for your Sunday Morning Jazz...

I am not sure where I got this show from but it is a Hell of a show! If I remember what I read it came from a guy who was a soundman who would sub at shows sometimes or something like that. Anyway there was a habit of recording the Front Of House Mix I guess for the band. That is where this tape came from allegedly. The recording came with pictures of a cassette boom box taped to soundboard equipment. The original uploader text is included for your reading pleasure. No matter if the story checks out or not, we get to listen to a soundboard recording from Foghat circa 1975!!! Call Me Happy!!!

So I had this playing this morning as well, after the 2 short shows. I decided to turn up the volume, now Rosebud and Spider are up too! I got lonely LOL!!!

Roy Haynes died November 12, 2024, following a short illness, he was 99.

I was made aware of Roy Haynes passing by one of our readers, mikeL. There was no cause given but at age 99 it was probably natural causes. It also would have him around age 85 when this awesome show was recorded. It's only 20 minutes but it's the only show I have of Roy as band leader. Roy Haynes was the sideman to the stars...even being the favorite drummer of Charlie Parker. That in itself is huge, Roy Haynes name is listed on so many classic Jazz releases I would need a separate blog to name them (a slight exaggeration). So add this to your Sunday Morning Jazz playlist you won't be disappointed.

This short but very sweet recording has just that one flaw, it's too short. I really could enjoy a full show of this quirky quintet. I mean trombone, accordion and sousaphone, along with organ, sax and percussion, when I read the instrumentation I had to hear it. With just the right amount of humor "Three-Legged Tango In Jackson Square" sounds like it could either be the soundtrack to a montage of Jerry Springer clips or your Saturday morning walk through the park to find a good seat before a Jazz Festival starts. This is some lighthearted music that will get your Sunday Morning started on the good side...

Alright here is where it gets a little wierd...how does a Metal Head post a show from the Eurythmics a Synth-Pop band. Blame it on my guitar player in Psychosis. The 2 of us were the main song writers of the band and we would listen to anything but Heavy Metal when we were in writing mode. We didn't want to sound like the other Metal bands around. I would listen to Joe Walsh, Joe Cocker and Bob Seger he would listen to a lot of Talking Heads, Frank Zappa and Eurythmics. I fell in love with Annie Lennox's voice. I have very few Eurythmics releases but the ones I have are in rotation still. This is a great listen and fans of Annie Lennox and The Eurythmics will love it!!

This show really takes me back. In 1982 I was still in High School and was driving my first car a Chocolate Brown 1972 Chevy Nova SS that had a very loud stereo in it. The 1st Aldo Nova album was played a lot in that car. Aldo Nova released an album that helped start a wave of commercial Heavy Metal music from America. Love the fact that Aldo Nova covers Grand Funk Railroad's "Foot Stomping Music" during his set, Michigan pride you know.

Now here is a nice find that just popped up at The Trader's Den recently. Gamma was always a great live band. The music always had that little bit more of an edge most Hard Rock bands had live in the 1970s. Producers back then kind of neutered Hard Rock bands in the studio. Ronnie Montrose couldn't win when it came to critics and the masses. Everything he did was held up against the monstrous debut from Montrose, I mean Paper Money wasn't even good enough. That was essentially the same band doing the same thing but for most it wasn't good enough. For me those 2 albums are Proto-Metal Gold straight from the mine!

This recording shows it's age a little, but is still a very enjoying listen!

I was very surprised when I logged into The Trader's Den to see what new goodies had been posted and found this hidden gem. A Three Dog Night soundboard with Check Negron still in the group!! What a great find!! Even the casual Three Dog Night Fan needs this show in their archive!!! When it comes to Three Dog Night shows on the net there are very few. I creep all over the net and I've seen hardly any.

This is a true soundboard with very little audience noise heard. The mix is actually pretty good despite it being a dry soundboard, on a soundboard recording the mix can be uneven. The band is in great form and voice. The only big fault of this recording is that it cuts off at the seventh song of the late set. I guarantee you will have this one in heavy rotation. It's playing right now as I make this post!
